Home Design Alternatives (HDA, Inc.)
is dedicated to providing informational services and
products that enable families to build and improve their
homes. Our products include blueprints, wall murals,
yard art patterns, project plans, and home related
books, magazines, and CDs. You can find HDA's products
in local home centers, including Lowe's and Bed Bath &
Beyond. Our home plan books are published under the
Design America and Dream Homes series. We also provide
the content for The Family Handyman Home Plans magazine.
Mission Statement:
To become the nation's most efficient and effective
distributor and publisher of publications designed to
inspire, instruct, and enrich the lives of consumers, by
partnering with specialty retailers to maximize their
sales through targeted product placement, aggressive
marketing strategies, and excellent service.
HDA offers consumers an alternative
to the traditional home building experience. We have
delivered house plans to consumers for over twenty
years. Our friendly customer service representatives and
technical staff are available to answer questions and
assist you with your purchase.
HDA, Inc. is a private company founded in 1983 by Robert
Ketterer and George Bearer, both experienced in
commercial construction projects. Early in the company's
history, the primary product was home plans. In 1997 the
assets of National Plan Service, the industry's oldest
distributor of publications to the home improvement
channel, were acquired. As HDA's distribution demands
grew, Foster and Hunt Marketing Services, Inc., a
distribution company, was acquired in 2000.
